BUYER'S AND SELLER'S CODE OF CONDUCT
This code sets out principles and behaviours that The Proposal Planner’s marketplace community reasonably expects of its Buyers and Sellers.
Basic Principles:
The community expects Buyers and Sellers to:
- Conduct themselves honestly and in good faith at all times.
- Comply with all laws, including sale of goods and/or services and intellectual property laws.
- Comply with The Proposal Planner's Terms of Use.
- Use this platform as intended, and 'keep it on site' so that we may continue to operate offering high quality, cost efficient, direct-to-consumer micro-events.
Buyers Agree To:
- Keep all initial communications on the provided chat features. At least, until after your Booking Request has been accepted by the Seller.
- Respond to messages as soon as possible, and within 48hrs whilst planning is underway.
- Not place negative feedback without making best endeavours to resolve issues first.
- Keep all initial communications with interested or potential Buyers within the provided chat feature. Do not move communications with a potential client 'offsite' before their Booking Request is accepted.
- Describe items fully and accurately and answer questions promptly.
- Ensure event delivery terms and times are clear and can be met e.g., include your travel fees to your listing if applicable. Provide estimated or preferred event schedules, and inclusions.
- Ensure gift items are shipped as soon as possible, and within a week of receiving payment and delivery address, unless otherwise indicated in the listing or agreed by both parties.
- Shipping charges should not be inflated for profit and must be a fair and reasonable reflection of the actual packaging and postage costs.
- Not place negative feedback without making best endeavours to resolve issues first.
- Not engage in retaliatory feedback or behaviour.
- Not subsequently spam previous buyers.
- Comply with all relevant laws, including the Fair Trading Act 1986 and its regulations, and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

- Comply with the Prices and Fees Policy**
LISTING POLICY (*)
- Use the marketplace platform as intended, and keep it onsite: including all user communications prior to a confirmed transaction.
- Listings should be used for the sale or promotion of actual or specific things, including services, and should not be used solely for the general advertising of a brand or business. For example, you should use a listing to promote a specific event package, and not simply to advertise an event's business.
- You must not use The Proposal Planner's listings to promote a business or website other than one for sale in your listing.
- Your listings may not contain a URL for a website.
- Listings should not include any contact details.
- We may remove or edit your listing if it violates our policies or our terms.
- As a last resort, we may also revoke the user's access and ban any future involvement.
PRICES AND FEES POLICY (**)
- We offer secure systems and payment protections through a third party merchant app – Stripe
- All prices must be in New Zealand dollars and include all applicable GST (if any).
- It's free to list an experience or event on The Proposal Planner's Marketplace.
- Buyers are charged a 3% transaction fee, which we collect to covers Stripe's fees.
- Sellers are charged 10% commission on each completed transaction. The remaining 90% is transferred directly to the Seller’s nominated New Zealand bank account.
- Commission charge rates are subject to change with forewarning by way of newsletter to verified Sellers.
- Payouts to Sellers are delayed until the order is marked as completed by either the Buyer or by The Proposal Planners.
- Transactions are processed and protected by Stripe.
DISPUTES RESOLUTION
Our goal is to resolve disputes between Sellers and Buyers as quickly and as painlessly as possible. When investigating disputes between buyers and sellers, we take the bigger picture into account. Sellers who have a history of great customer service, and act in a way that’s in line with our code of conduct and other policies, will find themselves in a better position when disputes arise.
We require Buyers and Sellers to keep their initial communications on the platform, however we strongly encourage any further planning communication remains on site, by keeping communications centralised this allows The Proposal Planners team to quickly assess any situation and offer the appropriate support in the event of a dispute.
